Whitstable is an unspoilt fishing town with miles of coastline to enjoy by walking or cycling.
It has it's own busy little harbour open everyday selling fresh sea food and oysters, known to grow in beds a few miles off shore. You can book a boat trip in the summer to view the seals on the sand banks off Margate, and to get close to the wind turbines which give us our electricity.
Their are many boats here as well as windsurfers. Sometimes we host major events. The Carnival, Regatta, and The Oyster Festival are not to be missed held in July/August. Celebrities enjoy living or visiting Whitstable because it's unspoilt and the sunsets here are breathe taking.
You might like to listen to the musicians playing on East Key close to the harbour or at The Neptune Pub on the beach. Ben Mills sometimes plays ( an X factor finalist). Whitstable has over 50 pubs some down back street roads all of them friendly some have live music.
Up market restaurants are serving Italian food as well as the fish restaurants close to the sea which are excellent. Whitstable has definitely got the thumbs up as one of the most relaxing, laid back, fishing towns in the South East. Co Just 1 hour 20 minutes to London Victoria Station from here.Whistable station is a 10 minute walk from the guest house. Canterbury City is just a 25 minute bus ride away. Buses to Canterbury are every 20 minutes and the bus stops opposite the guest house.
For those who love to cycle along the coast we hire bikes for £10.00 per day. Ask our staff about hiring a cycle. Herne Bay is a lovely bike ride along the coast about 6 miles you could sit along the promenade and have fish and chips. Or have a look at the market on a Saturday.
I think you will love our town and will want to come again and again !!
